We stayed here for a week in September. The cottage was lovely and comfortable and the grounds, which we were free to walk in, were beautiful, with trees and a lake and birdsong.
Jenny was so friendly and accommodating, letting my daughter and family visit and use the games room with us.
We loved it, and shall definitely return.

We have just returned from a lovely relaing week at Decoy Cottages.
The accommodation has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is full of character.,very cosy and warm.
The pretty patio area is secure and has good outdoor furniture,ideal for alfresco dining.
The games room was has a full sized snooker table ,unfortualtey we ran out of time to use the hot tub.
The setting is beautiful and the woodlands surrounding the lakes are stunning.
We both really enjoyed the fishing.catching 10 Carp including a Mirror Carp (I actually caught my first Carp ever )
We will definitely return for another relaxing chilled holiday .
The hosts were very friendly and accommodating .

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Decoy Cottages. We booked all three cottages for the family and our dog to enjoy time together relaxing and fishing.
The accommodation has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is full of character. We even had fresh flowers on the table, which was a lovely touch! The pretty patio area is secure and has good outdoor furniture.
The setting is beautiful and the woodlands surrounding the lakes are stunning, a carpet of bluebells!
The fishing was very successful, we caught good size Rudd, Roach, Bream and several large Carp. We all really enjoyed the fishing.
The hosts are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely return for another family get together.

Recently returned from a lovely stay at Decoy cottages. We stayed in Elm which was fabulously clean, nicely decorated and well appointed. The beds were very comfy. We enjoyed the patio and view of the lakes. My son loved fishing and we enjoyed strolling with the dog! Spent an enjoyable hour in the hot tub too. Lots to do in the area and it was a great base for us to see family for day trips during covid restrictions. Jenny was really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Myself and a relative recently spent a few days staying in Oak Cottage. How satisfying it was to find ourselves in secure comfortable accommodation with every possible luxury available to us. The setting was absolutely idyllic and we particularly loved walking through the woodland surrounding the lake and meeting the resident horses, dogs, geese and ducks!
Peter and Jenny were very attentive hosts and made sure that we were content throughout our stay. Needless to say, we are returning again shortly.

We spent a week over the Christmas period at Decoy Cottages (Elm Cottage):we had a really lovely, relaxed family Christmas there- we have stayed a number of times before including at Christmas and in the summer months and it never disappoints- we love it there! Jenny and Pete are lovely hosts and always friendly and helpful . The cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas and even included a lovely hamper for us. The cottage is very well maintained and has everything needed for a relaxed home from home.
We do not live very far away but it always feel like we are away from the usual busyness of life when at the cottages- its also lovely we can take our dogs.Totally recommend...we've already booked another week in the spring, and for all three cottages for a weekend so more family members can join us. Thank you as always Jenny and Pete.

We have not long returned from a lovely family holiday at the cottages for a week and must say none of us wanted to leave. Myself, my partner, son, granddaughter and our dog George stayed in Elm lodge which is just a short stroll from the beautiful lake. The cottage is clean and spacious and has everything you need. The bed is huge and lovely and comfy! The rest of the family stayed in Chestnut and Oak cottages, equally as well equipped, which was perfect as the children could play safely in the enclosed courtyard and secure for George. My grandsons loved playing on the lawn in front of the lake or in the fields and woods at the side of the cottages and the men caught some lovely carp in the lakes while the ladies chilled with a glass or 2 of wine. The cottage was large enough for us all to eat together and we had a few barbecues on the patio area. Jenny was so helpful and friendly but not intrusive. We had a lovely day out at The Bluebell Railway but other than that didn’t want to leave! It really is a beautiful place and we had a perfect family holiday! Thanks Jenny, will definitely be back next year!

We have just had a lovely four days staying in Elm cottage which is the one that has a private patio with a little bridge over a stream leading into the woods and the lakes. The area is so beautiful and if you like fishing, as our son does, then you would be in fisherfolk's heaven.
The cottage is spacious, has everything that you could possibly need and offers quiet and a chance to relax. Jenny is easy going and so the place would be good for pets and children. Jenny lives on site and so is on hand to answer any queries. There are horses in the field and friendly geese leisurely wandering by the lakes.
We shall just have to return in the Spring when the bluebells fill the woods.

We have just returned from a week at these lovely cottages. Our family (gran & grampa, plus 2 daughters & partners and 3 children aged 4,2 and 1) were attending a wedding at Broyle Place on Easter Sunday 2019 so this was an ideal base for us all. We stayed in Chestnut Cottage and Oak Cottage so the grandchildren could play safely in the courtyard as well as enjoying the walks in the bluebell wood and around the lake. We found the kitchens well equipped, the washing facilities excellent and the beds really comfortable. All in all a great time was had by all. Many thanks.

We booked this place by chance three years ago and have been back every year since. The accommodation is lovely and is surrounded by a beautiful lake. It’s also the perfect location. Our kids love the place especially the horses.
Jenny is a great host and leaves you to enjoy your holiday but is on hand if you need anything.
We have already booked next years holiday too.

We have just returned from a weekend stay at decoy cottages. What a lovely way to celebrate my dad turning 70. Everyone enjoyed it from the 4 year old to the 70 year old and all those in between. Something for everyone. We were even allowed a few guests to join us for an evening to celebrate which was a lovely touch. Jenny was so accomodating but without being intrusive which was great, Thanks loads. We'll be back.

We had a lovely stay over Christmas. Peaceful, great space in our cottage, and lovely walks through the woods and around the lake with our dog. In the mornings, we woke to bird song and the sight of geese and ducks. Perfect!
Jenny was so friendly and welcoming - nothing was a problem. She had decorated the cottage with a Christmas tree and festive things, and we had everything we needed to make our Christmas stay just how we wanted.

Have just come home after a fantastic weekend at Decoy Cottages . We booked all three cottages for a family celebration and it was perfect . There was enough space for everyone to be together but also to go off and chill easily. The games room was a great success particularly if you were winning !!
Jenny made us feel very relaxed and welcome and nothing was too much trouble .
Best of all was the courtyard which meant the dogs were safe and able to roam about . The lake behind the cottages was brilliant for some great dog walks .

We have just returned from a three night stay at Decoy Cottages celebrating my dads 75th Birthday ! Oh my word, the setting is overwhelmingly idyllic. We all felt so relaxed and did not leave the setting as there was so much to do, the kids built dens in the woods, played football, went on the swings, had water fights, played football and attempted fishing. We all used the hot tub, snooker table, BBQ and darts and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Jenny and Pete where perfect hosts and we did not want to leave. facilities excellent too. We will definitely be staying again. Amazing memories made. xx Cheers again.

This was, by far, the best value for money accommodation we have stayed in, in the area. Jenny, herself, offered service above and beyond what was required. Beautiful setting too - the lake was so peaceful. Whether your sport is fishing or opera - we couldn't recommend it highly enough, and will be back next year.

Just had a fantastic week at Decoy Cottages, the cottage was perfect and spotlessly clean, we had a bad experience with a holiday earlier in the year(some people think if you are taking a dog you don't expect the same degree of cleanliness)which of course is rubbish.!
Jenny was the perfect hostess helpful but not intrusive, and as an added bonus my husband had a great week fishing, catching a variety of good sized Bream, and Carp .

My daughter and I have just spent 4 fantastic days,(12th July to 16th July 2017) on a fishing break.We were really impressed with Elm cottage,very spacious and a stones throw from the lake. The fish are in very good condition and are fighters
The tranquility of the place is breathtaking,so peaceful and quiet. A place where one can be in touch with nature.. ???? Will certainly go back again.. Jenny Is a wonderful lady,helpful and friendly. Brian and Alicia.

We stayed at one of the cottages over the Christmas period23rd-27th December 2016, prompted to do so having spent a lovely week hiring all three cottages for a large family gathering back in the summer.
Yet again it was really lovely- different from staying in the summer but most enjoyable, relaxing and it felt like we were away from the busyness of life, but still able to get to places with ease.
Jenny had decorated all the cottages with Christmas trees and lovely subtle Christmas decorations- she could not have been more helpful. We walked round the lakes with the dogs and my son even did a spot of fishing on Christmas day...so he was very happy!.
We had a lovely break and friends came to visit one evening and we all enjoyed time in the games room, playing snooker and darts.
We have booked again for a week in the summer- we love it there! We don't live very far away but feel we have found a lovely little spot to just step off the world for a bit. I would totally recommend it. The cottages are all very well kept and have everything you need- great that you can take dogs to!

True Love
The converted piggery (hee hee) and grounds are simply gorgeous !! We loved how comfy and well-appointed it was. I could totally live there. Jenny is super sweet and very helpful. My son and I took a morning walk back behind the property and discovered the gate leading across a little bridge to a lovely, tucked away pond with cute little causeways and tiny cabins. Fun place to explore, fish or just sit and enjoy. We didn't have time to enjoy the hot tub or fitness suite but perhaps next time !!! ;-)

I think this was the best holiday cottage we have ever found. It suited our needs so well and even with our two dogs we found the space very generous. It was a great bonus to be allowed to walk the dogs in the safety of the fields. All in all, this is a gem and is on top of my list. Thank you so much.

What a wonderful weekend we have just enjoyed. We booked all three cottages for accommodation near to the venue where our son was being married.
Jenny was so welcoming and relaxed and the cottages had everything we needed!
The boys even enjoyed a dip in the hot tub just before they got all dressed up!!

I have just spent a wonderful week (16th - 23rd May 2016)at Decoy Cottages...having booked all three cottages where I enjoyed fantastic 60th birthday celebrations with lots of different family members! I had the most special and lovely time, with lots of family members coming to visit, and some to stay...ending with a lovely family and friends party on the Saturday night! Lovely , lovely memories created!
Jenny was so helpful and welcoming...all the three cottages are really nicely decorated and had all mod cons and everything we needed....the surroundings with the lake were just super and made for some wonderful family photos...we were delighted to be able to also have our much loved family dog with us....and the younger members of the family loved the games room with snooker table ...and of course the hot tub! My son loved the fishing!! Everyone was happy and could do what they found relaxing.
I totally recommend for a lovely relaxing break- we only live 20 minutes drive away but it felt like we were really away!: I would happily just return as couple, with friends or again as a big family group...in fact have already booked for Christmas!

We had our Christmas at Decoy Cottages, we was surprised to see the cottage with a xmas tree and decoration, the courtyard was also decorated with lights, which was lovely. The cottage was clean and well presented and the owner was very accommodating. We would definitely consider returning. Many Thanks

Lovely cottages set round a courtyard. Everything you could possibly need in peaceful surroundings. friendly owner who did the utmost to make our stay perfect. Cottage we stayed in was very clean and comfortable (especially the beds). We were going to Glyndebourne for the opera and the cottage was only a few minutes away. Amazed to have a games room, hot tub, sauna and fitness equipment at our disposal. The fishing lake at the back of the property is a great place for a barbecue in the summer months. With everything on one floor this comples of 3 cottages is great for the less mobile. Bathroom modern and very clean. Log burning stove makes this a fabulous cottage for Winter hire and the three cottages together (each sleeps 4) would be perfect for a family get together.

Myself and a few colleagues stayed at decoy cottages whilst working locally and we had a splendid time. It was in a beautiful location and beautifully presented. We had a lovely week of celebrations at Chestnut lodge.Perfect for the 4 of us and secure courtyard for Molly the dog.Everything you need for home from home. Gorgeously thick towels and plenty of hot water. Jenny very helpful and friendly. It was great to end or start the day saying hello to the animals and a walk in the woodland which were beautiful with the bluebells out. thank you

We returned home yesterday after spending a week and cannot wait to come back again.It was like staying with family and perfect for our two little Cavaliers with the safe enclosed areas.The assorted animals kept us amused and Jenny could not be more helpful

I found the cottages very clean and very well equiped. The geese and ducks were so lovely and we really enjoyed our walks around the lakes in the morning. The kids loved feeding the horses and ducks and we cant wait to come back next summer. see you next year!
